About our family!

We are a family of 7, including 4 yr old triplets! We adopted our first child (Andrew) domestically, but this time we feel the Lord’s calling us to adopt internationally, and we have decided on Ethiopia! Our son or daughter will be between the ages of 1-5 with special needs, and we are have been approved for a sibling group of 2. Our preference is for a girl or a girl/boy girl/girl siblings, but we are leaving it in God’s hands. We know that He will bring the perfect child(ren) to us!

Nothing about our life is “normal” or “typical”, and instead of feel sorry for ourselves or burdened, we actually rejoice that God has set us on this path and blessed us with such amazing children! We have found so much peace and strength simply living in God’s Will and following His plan for us. Sure, like any family raising children with special needs, there are challenging times and it can be exhausting when one (or more) are sick, but overall our life has been a fun and adventurous ride! Never knowing which roller coaster God is going to send us on next, but knowing He is with us at all times to keep us safe, so we just let go and enjoy the ride!!

Here you will find Mel’s ramblings on life raising 5 children and staying home, home educating through the Charlotte Mason Method, knitting, gardening, recipes, coffe/espresso, and anything else that comes to mind – While I LOVE and APPRECIATE it when friends and family leave comments on my blog, I understand that not everyone has the time to post, and I simply appreciate you stopping by, and more importantly, I appreciate your prayers for our family, especially during this new adoption process!

I created this site when our triplets were just 15 months old (when I first started this blog! wow, time flies). It was probably one of the most challenging times as parents, when our daughter Mariah, who has severe Cerebral Palsy was hospitalized for more than a month, undergoing numerous surgeries. I was overwhelmed by the the love and prayers showered on us through this blog, and since then it has been my outlet. A place for me to get away to vent…share… rejoice!

This is what you’ll read about here on melz midnight brew! .

(Oh, and FWIW, I’m proud to be family at one of the few non-denominational churches in our area – Cross-N-Crown, check it out sometime http://www.crossncrownministries.com/ – We’re just a bunch of sinners saved by GRACE and living our lives to the fullest in LOVE & JOY in Christ Jesus, our Savior!!
